First Investors Value Fund

The Value Fund seeks total return.

Investor Profile: This Fund can be used as a core holding around which you can build your portfolio. It may be appropriate for investors who are seeking total return, have a long-term investment outlook and tolerance for a moderate level of risk.

Focus: In selecting undervalued stocks, the Fund first identifies companies that pay dividends. The Fund then looks for companies that meet one or more quantitative standards that indicate they may be undervalued, such as low price-to-earnings ratios or low price-to-cash flow ratios. The Fund also analyzes qualitative issues, such as whether the managements of the companies are pursuing reasonable strategies.

The Fund normally will invest its assets among dividend-paying stocks of large-, mid- and small-cap companies. The Fund may also invest in stocks of companies of any size that do not pay dividends if they appear to be undervalued.
